Daylight is a light source (see, for example, Figure 12.1). Occupant satisfaction and energy conservation may be improved if proper considerations are given to the following:
• view design;
• human factors;
• glare control.
Apertures to admit daylight to urban buildings must be designed with many elements taken into account. These include:
• thermal comfort and indoor air quality;
• acoustics;
• architecture;
• economics;
• energy consumption;
