This chapter explains how to use some of the more advanced AutoCAD commands. Included are the Object Snap (Osnap), Grips, Layer, Block, and Attribute commands and settings.
Object snap modes allow you to snap to specific points on entities on the drawing screen rather than just to points, as does the Snap command. Object Snap—Osnap for short—can snap to the endpoint of a line, to the intersection of two lines, or to the center point of a circle, as well as to other items. The Object Snap tab in the Drafting Settings dialog box allows you to access the various Osnap modes.
