Systems prototyping and testing

Abstract

Support system design cannot be tested easily. The “laboratory” is often the real-application scenario. Some researchers use case study research methodology, but that depends on the existence of comparable cases by which principles can be detected and drawn. This chapter uses an example to illustrate how a support system can be prototyped and tested as a pilot study in an actual industrial environment.
