Abstract

The concept of reliability is closely related to the risks of malfunctioning of systems. If a system continues to do what it is supposed to do, it is considered reliable, otherwise, it is unreliable. Reliability is associated with time of correct operation of the system. Hence, reliability is measured or estimated in terms of nonfailure over time, under conditions which are specified for the system to work.
