Introduction
This chapter aims to explain the regulations in Turkish corporate law and capital markets law with respect to the board of directors and the committees established within the board and aims to answer the question whether or not these regulations serve as an efficient system. Unfortunately, as it is also the case in other emerging and developing markets, there are very few systemic studies in Turkey on corporate governance (Ararat and Yurtoğlu, 2006, p. 201).
