Knowing How to Read People
MANY PEOPLE are aware of the internal dialogue that takes place in their minds about what is actually happening in a situation aside from the words that are being spoken.
Once a mentor said to me (Kerry), “If you don’t watch the behaviors and actions of others closely, your message will be completely diluted.” This is so true. You must continue to grow your ability to read what people are thinking, feeling, and processing. Put in simple terms, pay attention to the visual, verbal, and nonverbal elements of reading people. This is a major piece of growing your emotional intelligence as well.
