Communication Stallers and Strategies

INTERRUPTING

We asked some of our seminar participants, “What are some behaviors that stall communication?” One common response was interrupting. Interrupting can halt all communication. It makes other people think that you do not care about what they are saying.

In addition, when you interrupt someone, you halt all possible opportunities as well as the chance to build the relationship. There is nothing worse than trying to say something and someone else either finishing your sentence or interrupting you with something he or she thinks is more important.

So here are a few simple strategies to follow in regard to not interrupting:
