Chapter 10. Extending SharePoint 2013 ECM Solutions

As we explained in Chapter 1, SharePoint is a platform. The platform contains a collection of features that can be configured to provide an ECM solution, and it provides many other application solutions that an organization can leverage for specific-use cases.

Because it is a platform, it has more flexibility than other industry-specific ECM products provide. This chapter will first cover the unique ways that SharePoint can be extended or used in varying capacities, by exploring SharePoint in the cloud with Office 365. We will then discuss the strong ecosystem of integrators and third-party tools that are available to extend and enhance SharePoint ECM solutions.
