Appendix B. Constructing J2EE Web Services Using WSAD 5.1
At the time of this writing, WSAD 5.0.1 was the latest commercially available product set offered by IBM and is therefore the base tooling for this book. Chapter 33 walked you through an example of creating a Web service from the RandomIDGenerator utility class using a combination of command line tools and WSAD. The reason for using command line tools, rather than the Web services wizards provided with WSAD 5.0.1, is the wizards in WSAD 5.0.1 are tooled for Apache SOAP and do not generate artifacts that are compliant with the JAX-RPC and JSR-109 runtime provided with WAS 5.0.2. In other words, the tool and the runtime were out of sync.
