In Chapter 19 you read that there are three types of EJBs supported by WebSphere—MDBs, session beans, and entity beans. You have already learned a lot about how session beans work, and how they are developed in WebSphere Studio for deployment into WAS. Now it is time to discover another part of the puzzle—how CMP entity beans work, and how they provide access to persistent data stored in a relational database.
