METADATA, GUIDELINES, AND POLICY

In Chapters 7, 8, and 10, we discussed maintaining a repository of information about the data within the system. We used the term metadata to refer to this repository. In this chapter, we explore metadata in more detail, since a major component of a knowledge management program is the maintenance of as much information as possible about an organization’s data resource.
