11.7. Using Mac OS X to Protect Other Computers

Mac OS X provides users with the ability to share an Internet or network connection with other computers. Internet Sharing is a handy utility that Apple included in its operating system that allows you to use your computer as a router in much the same way that a firewall appliance is used, as discussed in Chapter 10. Sharing an Internet connection can be extremely useful in a pinch, however, it should be disabled when not in use.
