Exercise: Generating
aNormalMap
So, now that you know what normal maps are, let’s talk about
how to generate one. It’s really not much different from gen-
erating a high-poly model. You just have to keep a few things
in mind.
The following surface is two triangles, or one polygon. It’s
a perfectly flat surface with four textures on it. These are dif-
fuse, specular, emissive, and of course, normal map.
