The course of a career doesn't run smoothly. This chapter looks at the more challenging aspects of career transition — situations you might encounter and some approaches used by successful career transition coaches. I should also say that this is not setting out to be ‘a balanced view’, weighing up the pros and cons — it is looking at the downsides, the challenges, and how you can counter them.

I have divided the chapter up into:
