Security of data on the home network is a very important consideration. There are many different types of security needed:
Firewalls to the outside world
Security of data from copying, such as movies and credit card numbers
Security of device access
Basic message-level security is provided in the first version of the specification. Additional security issues will be addressed in the second version of the VESA home network specification.
