What Is ZMapper?
ZMapper started its life as a Pixologic plug-in for ZBrush 2 that allows the creation of normal and cavity maps for a model. The maps can be created from your lowest level of subdivision or from a mesh with totally different topology. So it is perfectly feasible to not only sculpt from a very low-res base mesh and then retopologize, but to import a retopologized mesh from elsewhere in your 3D creation pipeline and bake a normal map to it.
