CHAPTER 10: COMMUNICATION

10.1 General requirements (ISO 45001:2018, Clause 7.4.1)

Communication between an organisation and its stakeholders is critical to the effective working of an OHSMS. Workers not knowing (or not having been communicated with) about a hazard could lead to serious OH&S consequences. Likewise, ignorance about OH&S procedures, concerns of workers, regulatory requirements or a lack of communication about a machine under maintenance could cause operational delays and serious OH&S risks. It is therefore important for organisations to create well-defined, two-way communication processes with all their stakeholders.
