The time has come to get real. Having familiarized ourselves with the definition of event-driven architecture (EDA), the characteristics of its components, its potential, and the essential makeup of Web services, the likely building blocks of EDA, we are finally ready to delve into the “how-to” of EDA. For the purpose of this book, we focus on building an EDA using a service-oriented architecture (SOA) as the foundation.
