IF YOU’VE EVER BOUGHT a house or a condo, you might have noticed that your real estate agent isn’t the only one at the settlement table who is selling.

When it’s time to sign on the dotted line, you sit at a big conference table with a bunch of people, like a real estate agent, a lawyer, a closing agent from a title company, and maybe even a loan officer. The homeowners who are selling you the house might be there, too.

The real estate agent probably knows everyone at the table, but the rest of you very likely are meeting face-to-face for the first time.
