APPENDIX 1: MERGERS AND ACQUISITIONS

Introduction

Tyson Faulkner and Ed Furilla are deeply involved with acquisitions and mergers, and have been for many years. They were asked to provide their thoughts about the good practices they have identified that can be shared, and their perspective on organisational change. Why include a separate appendix about mergers and acquisitions? Well, one reason would be that organisational change is now going to affect two organisations and, in this case, a problem halved is not a problem solved; in fact, the problem is more than doubled.
