THE THREE CURRENT EXTREMES

“He didn’t take the time to chat with the secretary. He’s therefore not a warm person and will not succeed in this role. So we’re not going to move forward with him.”

Statements like this are common in the hiring process. Managers regularly have to make decisions about candidates based on limited or somewhat irrelevant data. I have observed three extreme viewpoints on how to make hiring decisions given the limited data.
