Pilot Study

Introduction to Pilot Study

A pilot study was performed in 2013–2014 to test an initial methodology for the research and an emerging conceptual framework. The methodology was based on that used by one of the researchers in his doctoral research undertaken between 2009 and 2013 (Eltigani, 2013). A key part of his research methodology was the combination of two streams of research: dynamic capabilities and strategy as practice. In his doctoral work, Eltigani (2013) explored performance improvement using excellence models in government agencies in the United Arab Emirates.
