Data management is one of the most important aspects of an application. Imagine that you can create only applications that store their data in memory. As soon as the user quits, all data is lost, and subsequent launches require reentering of all necessary data. Of course, this would be an impossible situation to work with, which is why the .NET Framework helps you store your data in a persistent way.
