SUM

Synopsis

SUM is very handy for summing a series of numeric values.

To Calculate

=SUM(Number1, Number2, ...)
Number1, Number2, ...

There must be between 1 and 30 different numeric arguments specified for this function.

Example

Figure 14-18 illustrates how SUM is used to find the result of adding multiple values. The example compares this function to results of multiplying the same values using PRODUCT.

Note

SUM can also sum logical values; TRUE is translated to 1 and FALSE is translated to 0.
