26. Creating Interactive Dashboards with Power View or GeoFlow
Excel 2010 brought the amazing PowerPivot add-in for Excel. Excel 2013 now builds on PowerPivot, providing add-ins that let you create beautiful interactive dashboards based on data stored in the Model.
Power View, like PowerPivot, is free if you have Office 2013 Pro Plus or higher. Power View combines pivot tables, charting, mapping, product images, tables, slicers, filters, and a date animation in a single screen-sized canvas.
Preparing Your Data for Power View
Spend a little extra time up front to get your data ready for Power View. The data has to be in the Data Model, so if you have data in Excel, you have to use Ctrl+T to convert each data set to a table.
