Level 4 Documentation

Level 4 documentation tends to be a kind of catchall category. Most documentation pyramids include in Level 4 the category of “Records,” but beyond that there may be a variety of kinds of documents that don’t fit readily into other categories but need to be controlled. There is no consensus on what needs to be in Level 4 documentation and no need for consensus. There is a logic to ensuring that all controlled documentation is included in one of the documentation levels, but no particular requirement for doing so. It is certainly possible to control a documentation category without requiring it to be an element in the documentation pyramid.
