Chapter 11. Team Folders

Starting with Outlook 98, Microsoft began to incorporate some interesting Web technologies directly into Outlook, going beyond the inclusion of HTML as an email format. The most noticeable result from this integration is Outlook Today, a Web-style view of your calendar, messages, and tasks in an at-a-glance format. This new feature actually involves two distinct characteristics: viewing a Web page from within Outlook, and viewing your Outlook information in a Web page format. These two characteristics combine to produce the useful Outlook Today feature, but it is the extension and reapplication of these Web technologies that interests us the most, as we will discuss in this chapter and the next.
