Folder Home Pages
Outlook 2000 takes the concept of Outlook 98, and the technology it provided, a step further with its folder home pages. This new feature allows any folder to be assigned a Web page URL, allowing you to use these folders to link to external Web sites or create customized Web views for individual folders. Like the Outlook Today page, these pages can contain anything that you can place onto the Web, which means that ActiveX controls, VBScript, Java, and many other technologies are available to the Outlook developer The true value of this technology will be explained later in this chapter and Chapter 12, but for now only the basics will be covered.
