When a business executive is asked whether he has an SOA, he is more than likely to answer “an SO what?.” The truth is that many business executives around the world have heard about SOA, but many think it is something that their IT departments might be implementing. Although this situation is evolving, we believe that until the management recognizes a strategic objective to become “service oriented,” the full benefit of an SOA will not be realized.
