In 2002, Professors Jesus Salgado and Silvia Moscoso of the University of Santiago conducted a massive analysis of PBIs and finally revealed why the results of every PBI question, regardless of the topic, appeared indistinguishable. By combining the results of hundreds of independent empirical studies on the subject, they found that an individual’s performance on any PBI question was dominated by the same three things: experience, job knowledge, and social skills.7
