This chapter addresses issues related to hardware and software when moving from single or point solutions to a services platform for digital media management on an enterprise scale. As this book is not deeply technical, certain concepts will be simplified to some degree. The goal is to raise awareness of some larger issues related to the planning and implementation of a larger strategy.
