Executive Shadowing
A FEW YEARS back, we developed an executive shadowing program in response to research that suggested a large number of executives derail when they move from management to executive positions. Executive shadowing experiences not only provide managers with an overview of the role, but also a sense for whether they would like to consider an executive path in the future. The experience provides managers with the opportunity to spend time with an executive leader, observe the executive performing his or her role, and ask relevant questions.
