How We See

Seeing is an act of perception that helps us to experience, learn, ascertain, and understand our world. An individual skill that is conditioned by our physical anatomy, culture, and education, seeing develops with exercise.

Our Western industrialized society is dependent on literacy to function. To be fully literate means that, just as it is necessary to learn to decipher messages that have been put into a written code or language, we must be able to interpret the coded information of pictorial language.
