3.5 Bundling and offering definitions

The current version of IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center will be a “soft

bundle” packaging solution that combines the following current products and

components:

򐂰 IBM TotalStorage Multiple Device Manager 1.1.1 Service Pack1(including the

Disk Manager, Performance Manager and Replication Manager)

򐂰 IBM Tivoli Storage Resource Manager 1.3.2

򐂰 IBM Tivoli SAN Manager 1.3.1

򐂰 IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center with Advanced Provisioning additionally

includes IBM Tivoli Provisioning Manager 2.1.0 with Fix Pack

2.1.0.0-TIV-TPM-IF0001 limited use license

򐂰 IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center 1.2 LaunchPad (included with MDM)

򐂰 Storage Building Block Actions and Workflows

These products will be combined and shipped as currently constituted in the

releases specified above. No attempt will be made to rename or rebrand the

individual products. However, they will be made available through a single

orderable sales package as the IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center. As listed

above, the LaunchPad will also be included to provide a central interface through

which to navigate to the various components (products).

In addition to all of the capabilities of the contributing products, IBM TotalStorage

Productivity Center with Advanced Provisioning provides storage provisioning

and management services. These services are provided via APIs as well as

through IBM Tivoli Provisioning Manager elemental workflows that invoke these

APIs.

3.5.1 Solution offerings

With the current offering, IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center, there are two

solution offerings. The first offering, IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center

provides you with the tools to manage your storage environment, while the

second offering, TotalStorage Productivity Center with Advanced Provisioning

provides these same tools coupled with IBM Tivoli Provisioning Manager for

IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center provides the following products and

from which you can launch the user interfaces for the IBM TotalStorage

Productivity Center components as well as the interface for IBM Tivoli

Storage Manager)

The TotalStorage Productivity Center with Advanced Provisioning solution is

designed to allow you to automate capacity provisioning capabilities through

automated workflows.

TotalStorage Productivity Center with Advanced Provisioning provides you with

one additional product:

operating systems, middleware, applications, and network devices — and

now storage)

As mentioned earlier in this chapter, the IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center is
