Quality of Service and Protocols

1. What is meant by quality of service? What are its characteristics?

Ans: A stream of packets being transmitted from the source node to destination node is referred to as the flow. Each flow is characterized by a certain set of performance parameters such as reliability, jitter, delay and bandwidth. The ability of a network to deliver the flow of packets to the destination node with the defined set of performance parameters is defined as its quality of service (QoS).
