Developing apps for the Facebook platform requires a little knowledge on two fronts. The apps themselves often consist of HTML and CSS for creating and formatting websites, as well as JavaScript, PHP, Python, or Objective-C programming. To deploy an app on Facebook and take advantage of all the various objects, such as news feeds and other Facebook features, you need to have an understanding of the basic Facebook application programming interface (API).
Facebook provides a well-developed API for creating apps, with plenty of tools to help you integrate your app into Facebook’s social fabric, as well as extensive documentation.
