11. Pages and Ads

Welcome to the chapter on Pages—and please notice the capital P. There are thousands of pages on Facebook, but only some of them are Pages.

As I’ve mentioned a few times in earlier chapters, a Facebook Page is a special kind of profile that allows public figures, organizations, and businesses to communicate easily with throngs of fans, supporters, or customers. Pages also offer valuable demographic information and traffic statistics to let Page administrators (admins for short) know what kinds of visitors have been checking out their Pages and what those visitors are interested in.
