INTRODUCTION
Let us confess. My coauthor Steve and I are addicts. Actually, “face junkies” is probably a better way of describing the two of us. We've never met a face we didn't find at least slightly interesting. And there have been lots of them that have caused us to grab our cameras and start shooting. Sometimes the results have been good; sometimes not so good. But whatever the outcome, we've had a lot of fun in the process.
And that's where this book comes in. We've written it for two reasons. First, of course, we hope that by looking at the pictures in it and reading our notes on how they were made, you'll learn things that will help you make the sorts of portraits you would like to make.
