WHEN DRAWING FAIRIES AND OTHER WORLDS OF THE IMAGINATION, you won’t want to copy a reference exactly. In this project, I use a reference for the basic positions of the face, hands, and shoulders; the rest is open to changing form as the drawing develops. When working from the imagination, remember to keep your light source consistent throughout so you can build realistic highlights and shadows.
