NOT SO FAST

MOST MANAGERS WOULD AGREE that the FAST elements (Frequent, Accurate, Specific, and Timely) should set the standard for feedback given to employees. Indeed, when presented with the FAST approach, many managers insist they already give workers such feedback. Surely, some of them really do provide FAST Feedback; however, our interviews with people on the front lines of the workplace tell a much different story, indicating that workplace feedback is not so FAST, often missing some or all of the crucial elements of this effective approach.
