THE SECOND KEY to the FAST approach is giving feedback that is accurate. It is also the second key behavior of the most effective coaching-style managers, based on our extensive research.

The Importance of Accurate Feedback

First and foremost: The Accurate element is critical because every time a manager provides an employee with feedback, his or her credibility is on the line; giving feedback that an employee perceives as inaccurate (off-base, unfair, unbalanced, or factually wrong) is a sure way to undermine that credibility, particularly if the manager is evaluating an employee’s job performance.
