Making the plan bulletproof
Unexpected things will happen on your project. Most of those unexpected things will be bad, i.e. they will have a negative effect on the project and tend to blow it off course or slow it down. If you want to have a fast project, you want to try as far as possible to reduce the effect of these things.
You have to realise that the plan as it stands is a very fragile thing. If you were to go with this plan, then as soon as the first little whoopsie happened on the project – Charlie goes sick for half a day, for example – you start to fall behind schedule and bang goes your fast project.
