Once upon a time, installing programs was a hit-or-miss effort that required plenty of coffee, and more than a little luck. Today, using Microsoft Windows XP and the Microsoft Office System, installing involves little more than putting the CD in the CD-ROM drive, and having the numbers you need handy.

Knowing how to install and uninstall programs is helpful for those times when you want to make changes to the components you have installed in the Office System, add new programs, or remove programs you’re not using.
