Chapter 6. T.37 Store-and-Forward Fax
The ITU-T Recommendation T.37 offers an additional means of transporting fax transmissions beyond the methods of passthrough and relay that have been discussed in the previous two chapters. Often referred to as “store-and-forward fax” the T.37 specification details a process for integrating e-mail with fax communications. T.37 ensures that faxes arrive to users as e-mail, and it also allows users to transmit faxes by simply sending an e-mail.
