ETHICAL PITFALLS
The government has to buy things honestly and fairly. To make sure this happens, Congress has passed a number of laws aimed at making the procurement process fair. For decades, Congress has imposed conflict of interest restrictions on government employees. These laws regulate and limit the involvement of government employees and former government employees in contracts with the government itself as well as in contracts with private companies.
