DEBRIEFINGS

After the government awards a contract, any of the losing companies can get a debriefing from the government. A debriefing is a meeting between the government and an individual “disappointed” offeror (as a losing company is politely referred to). Both sides discuss the company’s proposal so that the company can improve future submissions to the government. The briefings are supposed to be learning experiences for the companies.
