Other Datacom Developments
Because the field of fiber optic data communication is expanding so rapidly, inevitably new technologies and applications will emerge while this book is being prepared for print. In addition, there will be some recent developments that have not been incorporated into the previous chapters. This appendix is an attempt to address these changes by including a partial list of related datacom devices and standards for reference purposes and to include brief descriptions of several emerging datacom technologies that the reader may encounter in the literature (product names and terminology used in this appendix may be copyrighted by the companies that developed them).
