CHAPTER 7Regrouping

REGROUPING CAN BEGIN during the veteran’s job-search process and end when he or she has adopted a new way of operating that is consistent with civilian success. Hallmarks of this stage of transition are a steep learning curve, resistance to change, receiving and responding to feedback, and, ultimately, sustained behavior change. You, as leader, manager, and/or human resource professional are in a position to accelerate the learning curve and limit frustration.
