Chapter 20. AppleScript Integration
AppleScript is a scripting language built into the Mac OS X operating system; it is configured and ready to run on Apple computers right out of the box. In addition to providing users with a macro-like ability to manipulate files and other aspects of the Mac OS X and the Finder, AppleScript also has the capability to automate and integrate applications that have been engineered to be “scriptable.”
FileMaker is one such application. You can use AppleScript both to manipulate FileMaker and to allow FileMaker to control and communicate with other applications.
