Although this book focuses on the features and capabilities of FileMaker 9, the vast majority of features have been present in FileMaker Pro for some time now. In case you ever find yourself working with an older version, it can be useful to know which features were added in which version. Because the file format used for FileMaker Pro 9 files is the same as that used for FileMaker Pro 7, 8, and 8.5 files, there’s also a chance that users will open a file with something other than the latest version of the application, in which case it’s good to know what features are unavailable to that user.
